Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc., dead at age 56

Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, Inc. has passed away at the age of 56 from pancreatic cancer.

Jobs was diagnosed in 2004 with the disease, which has a poor prognosis. He told employees about his condition the same year. While he took time to tend to his health Timothy D. Cook ran Apple, Inc.

Apple Inc. released the following statement:

“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.

Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.

His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.”
