Katherine Heigl hates balls
Katherine Heigl is letting it be known-she hates balls and we’re not talking about tennis balls. When making a chart of pros and cons of testicles the pro list is empty but the con list is vast. The campaign is to promote the spray/neutering of pets and animals in animal shelters. For now, at least.
Heigl started the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation two years ago donating over $2 million to pet rescue programs. The foundation’s latest campaign, I Hate Balls, brings humour to a very real problem. The video is being featured on Funny or Die.
More than 5 million pets are killed in US shelters each year. The most effective way to lower this number is by spraying and neutering pets and animals that come into shelters.
Using humour to get the message across, including a cameo by her own hubby Josh Kelley, Heigl gets the message out.
Heigl’s foundation takes donations and also has a store that supports her cause.
The foundation is named after her brother, Jason Debus Heigl. Jason was just 15 when he was killed in a car accident in 1986. His family donated his organs to help others. Heigl and her mother Nancy decided to honour his memory and his love of animals as a living legacy.
