TORONTO, Aug. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - While temperatures continue to soar and summer seems unstoppable, Canadian retailers are preparing to stock their shelves with the latest and greatest gifts for the highly anticipated holiday shopping season. The opportunity to visit 900 exhibitors in one million square feet of event space attracts over 12,000 retailers who flock to the Toronto Gift Show to source innovative, new products across six major consumer categories. Running from August 12 – 15, the semi-annual event owned and operated by the Canadian Gift & Tableware Association (CGTA) is Canada’s largest gift trade show.
This fall’s trends range from gold accents and dramatic black accessories to Middle Eastern-inspired prints in home furnishings and animal accents for the kitchen and table. With product categories including Gourmet Food & Housewares and Bed, Bath & Linens to Artisan’s Way and Jewellery & Fashion Accessories, the Toronto Gift Show is set to inspire retailers of all kinds from across Canada and internationally. This year, the CGTA is challenging the Canadian gift industry, including retailers, manufacturers and distributors to raise $100,000 through the Kids Health Gift Challenge for SickKids Foundation.
