The EX is open for business!

The Canadian National Exhibition, or The Ex as it’s fondly called in Toronto, opened today for the yearly two and a half week Fair that delights the city.

Many folks go to the Ex for the games and rides but there’s much more to the event. From a PeeWee Baseball Tournament, musical performance, educational exhibits and loads of interesting food there really is something for everyone at The Ex.

The new CNE Sky Ride takes visitors from Princes’Gate to the BMO Field. Riders can enjoy the sights from 40 feet above the ground as they zoom across the midway.

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Canadian Ice Dancers and 2012 World Championship Gold Medalists, are appearing until August 31 twice a day at the Aerial Acrobatics and Ice Skating Show.

This year the CNE’s Toronto Star Bandshell will be featuring concerts. Every day there is someone new to enjoy. The line-up includes Big Sugar with Flash Lightnin’, Nick Carter with Andrew Allen, Boogie Wonder Band, Freddie McGregor, Motown – The Spinners, Don McLean with Dustin Bentall and Kendel Carson, Trooper with Poor Young Things, Last Night of the “Canadian” Proms, 3OH!3 with The New Cities, Arkells with The Darcys, Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Tea Party with Jordan Cook and Arturo Sandoval.

Battleground CNE! The Military History of the CNE Grounds is a great exhibit to learn more about Canada’s military history.

Newz4u.net will be covering many of this year’s special events so that you can experience the Ex even on the days you can’t be there in person.

Great article KJ! Thanks.. Love the photo of The Human Tree! … You missed the statue of Eve Ho for the appeal for 3 missing teens located in front of the 14 Division Sub Station! :)
