Man found murdered at Jimmie Simpson Park
The remains of 24-year-old man was found this morning around 10:45 at Toronto’s Jimmie Simpson Park. The park, located on Queen Street East is a known hang out for homeless people.
Toronto Police responded to a call for a sudden death this morning at Jimmie Simpson Park. Police located a deceased man behind the Jimmie Simpson arena near GO railway tracks.
The location of Fawell’s body is difficult to get to. His body was discovered this morning by street outreach workers.
George Fawell, 24, has been identified as the victim. It is being reported that Fawell’s hands were tied and his throat was slashed.
Fawell lived at 39 Aberdeen Avenue, part of Toronto Community Housing. It’s about a 33 minute walk from where Fawell lived to where his body was found.
Toronto Police are asking anyone who has any information about Fawell’s last night to get in contact with them or call CrimeStoppers.
